This picture shows the guaze hanging out of the incision before I pulled it out and restuffed him :) You can also see that there is still quite a bit of drainage. (hope I didn't gross anybody out). This makes Day 20 with 6 days post incision and drainage.

Well Ice skating competition was last night (Friday) and this morning (Saturday). With Lana's help I was able to get Dan hooked up to his IV and then went to the rink on Friday. She would come and unhook him and do his dressing change. Then of course for Saturday I left as soon as the competition was over. So, I am the nurse for the weekend. I am so exhausted from judging and trying to be alert and awake for Dan.

The good news is that the nausea pill is helping Dan and he is able to eat a little better. He still becomes nauseated but not as severly and for shorter spells. The bad news is he is pretty much out of it from the pill. He is still in a lot of pain when we do the dressing changes. We are packing anywhere from 1-2 inches of guaze strips into the incision that Dr. Dowell made. It is looking better but still feels very hard.
